Workshops are one-time events ranging from three hours to five days.  Some are geared for those wishing to sample a particular medium while others are deep dives into a select medium.  Workshops are great for busy people!

FAQ: WORKSHOPS

1. How are workshops priced? 
   CAC prices classes based on a few criteria: Teaching Artist pay, Department Fee, and CAC income. We pay our Teaching Artists because teaching and creating art is hard work. Our Department Fee keeps the lights on and pays for any facility necessities (kilns, welding equipment, etc.). While CAC is a nonprofit, we try not to rely exclusively on grants or donations; this frees up those funds for community outreach rather than going to our day-to-day activities.

2. What are the benefits of a membership? 
   In addition to other benefits detailed on our Membership page, a membership entitles you to a $30 discount for each class or workshop you take in the year after you sign up for membership. Your membership is completely tax-deductible.

3. Do I have to purchase my supplies for workshops? 
   Unless otherwise stated within the Workshop’s description, your materials are covered within the price of admission! If you are unclear as to what a particular workshop might require, please feel free to call the office at 214.320.1275 for further info. If your workshop time overlaps with lunch, it is usually suggested that you bring a lunch.

4. Does CAC offer workshops for kids? 
   No, we do not offer classes for children except through our outreach programming. We do, however, take students 15 and above with parental permission in our regular programming. For places in the DFW offering children’s programming click here.

5. Do you offer any discounts? 
   Yes, we offer a yearly membership to students, teachers, veterans, and seniors 55 and older. With this membership, we offer a $30 discount on class or workshop fees (department materials fee is not included) to qualified teachers, students, and veterans.

6. Do you offer any scholarships?
