Live Model Lab

This group is for anyone interested in fine art live figure drawing or painting. Held at the Creative Arts Center of Dallas, these sessions are conducted on a weekly basis. The three-hour uninstructed session which are facilitated by a professional artist. Model poses are held no longer than maximum of 30 minutes. Each artist should bring their own art supplies, canvas, drawing pads or paper, brushes, pencils, etc. CAC provides easels, chairs, small tables and drawing boards. CAC schedules a variety of live models for these labs who will posing nude, so we expect protocol to be followed (no photography allowed).

 

Ceramics Lab

Students currently enrolled in ceramics/clay classes at the CAC are invited to attend the Ceramics Lab free of charge. This is an opportunity to utilize the studio space outside of class time. The Ceramics Lab allows students to finish class projects, start their dream project, experiment, and be in community with other ceramics students. Instructors are present and available, however there is no formal instruction. Students are expected to leave a clean and organized studio for the next ceramicist creating their masterpiece. Similar to our classes, these labs are not intended for production pottery.

Session Times:

Tuesdays, 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM

Fridays 9:30 AM - 9:30 PM

Saturdays 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM

 

Jewelry Lab

Students currently enrolled in jewelry classes at the CAC are invited to attend the Jewelry Lab free of charge. This is an opportunity to utilize the studio space outside of class time. The Jewelry Lab allows students to finish class projects, start their dream project, experiment, and be in community with other jewelry students. Instructors are present and available, however there is no formal instruction. Students are expected to leave a clean and organized studio for the next jeweler creating their masterpiece.

Starting January 2025:

Tuesdays 1:00 - 4:00

Saturdays 1:00 - 4:00

 

Glass Lab

The Glass Lab is available for students to utilize the glass studio. Labs are held in the Glass Room at the Creative Arts Center and are uninstructed. Labs are 3 hours long. Teaching-Artist Diane Flynn will be available to assist, answer questions, and offer guidance as needed. To reserve a spot in the Glass Lab, click “Glass Lab” in red above.
